I used polygon primitives to create a sketch up of my animated cartoon character. I decided after creating this very basic figure that I would take my midterm project in this direction. From here I will manipulate the polygons and give him a more life like shape. I will add more textures to create a face. I will also try to develop a small animation for him, maybe a blink of an eye, or an opening of the mouth.

Cartoon character "Pre-midterm"
I used polygon primitives to create a sketch up of my animated cartoon character. I decided after creating this very basic figure that I would take my midterm project in this direction. From here I will manipulate the polygons and give him a more life like shape. I will add more textures to create a face. I will also try to develop a small animation for him, maybe a blink of an eye, or an opening of the mouth.
CV Butterfly
I was unsure of what to exactly make for my midterm project, I was caught between a butterfly flying through a wooded landscape, or a model of a third dimensional cartoon character. I decided to give both a try to see what direction I wanted to head in. I used the CV curve tool to create the wings, antennas, and body. I used the revolve function to create the butterfly's full body. I put the butterfly in a motion path and animated it's wing to give it a lively effect. I reversed the axis of the wings throughout the animation timeline. After producing this I went on to create a sample for my cartoon character.

Model of Coffee Mug
The model I chose to design was a coffee mug. I worked with cv primitives to create the foundation of the mug. Then I used the "revolve" function to finalize my design. The handle was created with a half sweep torso.

Bouncing Ball Tutorial
This is my first post with a finished product in the completion process of the bouncing ball tutorial. I started out very slow trying to get familiar with the user interface in Maya. After getting adept at functioning within the interface I began to fully understand the endless amount of possibilities that this program could achieve. Throughout the process of the bouncing ball tutorial, minor problems occurred when trying to squash/bend the ball. The key setting's for the squash/bend would not function on my computer with maya, which altered me from having a constant squashing and bending ball throughout the animation process. I became very fluent in working with materials/texture nods and the rendering process this week. I plan on working on another computer on the school campus to step beyond the minor setback in bending"set keys".

About Me
My name is Shane Robinson and I am currently a sophomore at the College of New Jersey. I grew up in small town called Galloway, which is located in South Jersey on the outskirts of Atlantic City. I have wrestled my entire life and it was probably one of the most influential decisions I have ever made. It taught me a lot about values, dedication, and determination, which are all key fundamentals in acquiring what ever you have your heart set on. I also am a wrestler here at the college. I have always had a fascination with computers growing up. It has led me to the destination of this animation course. Video games brought me in the direction of computing when I was a young buck around the age of 9. I grew away from my hobby of video games and shifted toward experimenting with photoshop in 7th grade. This is where I acquired my interest of web design/graphic design. The fascination with computer graphics and web design most likely came from my past years of tinkering with oil pastels and sketch pads.
